LE CORPS de Spinoza by N’Dré Sam Beugré
I have finished reading “LE CORPS de Spinoza” by N’Dré Sam Beugré
The relationship between Spinoza and happiness is not immediate, yet I should have known that I can be happy through understanding Spinoza.
This happiness passes from the relationship with an imminent and immediate God, from cruel materialism yet the only one to choose.
The dual nature of man, spiritual and material, takes shape in reading the author’s book. The beauty of the text remains over time with Spinoza.
The body is determined for the whole, for the set of causes in which the whole is inserted and inscribed. We are at the mercy of a furious emotional wave that comes and goes, leaving us on the shore of a paradise beach without the courage to get up.
The human spirit becomes the idea of the human body. Thanks to the imagination, we transform the spirit into a governing principle of the body.
Increasing our power to be happy is the matrix that Spinoza offers us, through levers to be activated on us concerning the outside.
The concepts read are well exposed and well-articulated with each other.
Ethics is addressed in the first section and then the Treatise in the second part.
I was traveling while reading, with various feelings of anxiety and emotional conflict with co-workers. Reading Spinoza helped me reconnect with what matters to me.
